Ayoze De Alejandro Lopez

Ayoze makes his teaching debut at WMWF2020, but has performed with kit drums on two other occasions with Balkan/Mediterranean fusion line-up Colomboloco.

Ayoze is a versatile musician and percussionist, equally at home on Drum Kit or Congas, as well as the Cajón, which he will be teaching over the weekend.

A cajón is a box-shaped percussion instrument, originally from Peru, played by slapping the front or rear faces (generally thin plywood) with the hands, fingers, or sometimes implements such as brushes, mallets, or sticks. Cajóns are primarily played in Afro-Peruvian music (specifically música criolla), but has made its way into flamenco as well. The term cajón is also applied to other box drums used in Latin American music, such as the Cuban cajón de rumba and the Mexican cajón de tapeo.

Due to the amazing range of sounds and the different timbres, the cajón often referred to as a drum kit in a box, and is used as such in modern music.

Ayoze will be teaching beginner level as well as advanced Cajón technique.
